Half-Way Reflection
Things are going well. I never realized how much technology you could implement into the elementary classroom until now. There are a lot of fun sites and programs students can use. I think it is good to use some technology in the elementary classroom, but I do not think I would use it everyday. The most important lesson or concept I have learned so far is how to implement technology into the classroom using the basic programs like word and excel. I never thought of using excel the way we have in class.

I was also surprised to find just how many websites, programs, and resources there are online that we could implement into the classroom. It really is cool and makes it so easy and convienient to have it all done for us, so we dont have to always come up with our own ideas of how to integrate technology into the general curriculum. I agree also that I wouldn't use it everyday, but it is a nice and powerful tool for teachers to have!
I agree with you when you say that you wouldn't use technology in the classroom everyday, but yet you would include some in your lessons. I also was shocked about the many websites there are for students themselves and for teachers. I am looking forward to having all of these great sources available and to looking at them more for when I do my lessons. The learning of word and excel was very helpful even if I have already taken classes dealing with that because this helped me realize different ways to implement them in the classroom.
I have to agree with you that there are some useful sites out there for students to use, but I would not use technology everyday. Often times teachers do not have the facilities or the time to incorporate much technology in the classroom because of all the other standards the state requires children meet. I do feel that if technology use in the classroom is so important, then the state needs to incorporate more technology use into their standards so teachers have more room to work.
I do like the number of help sites for teachers that have been introduced, but I do wish we would work with more programs that our early-childhood students could work on.
I have also really liked learning about the different sites and learning programs a teacher can use. It's motivating and exciting to see what I can use someday and it makes me want to use technology more and incorporate it more when I see how much fun I have with it and how much fun the students could have.
I completely agree with you. Until this class I had no idea how technology would be implemented in an early childhood classroom. I feel that this class has prepared me to utilize technology in my future classroom. I know I have so much more to learn about technology and teaching, but I feel that this class has provide me with the resources I need.
