I made a collage by taking a picture of various items. I made sure I included different colors. I pasted it into a word document and wrote the question: What colors and items do you see? below the picture. I would use this for color recognition. My class would tell me all the color they see. I would then expand by asking my students if any of the items are related. I am sure I would get interesting stories on how the object are related. It would be a different and fun way to implement color recognition!

I think your picture is really cute and well put together. I like the idea of the students recognizing how items are related. An idea I had to maybe expand your lesson a little more would be to have the students explore the classroom itself and see if they can find items of the same color or just the same items. It might be a fun way to get the students to notice things in the classroom that they had never noticed before.
I really liked your picture. I think that it is something that will spark interest other than matching items but finding out stories about the keys or what their favorite Kool-Aid is. I really like this idea! :)
This is a great activity for younger children and can be modified for older. The color idea is great for children in first and second grade. When the children are older you could have them identify the objects in the picture and find the uses for each object. This idea is useful for all ages...great job!
This a cute, creative way to do color recognition. You could also have them then go find other objects that are the same color. When they learn more about colors, they could find the primary colors.
